National Lei Day is Around the Corner

Do you love flowers? You love to celebrate? So does everyone in attendance to the National Lei Day Gathering! Come together with your family, bringing food and drinks to celebrate the 97th Annual National Lei Day in Hawai’i! No other way to spend your beautiful Thursday, then to gather at the park. All you need to know:

Mayor Rick Blangiardi, the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation, and the 96th Lei Court welcomes everyone to take part in the 97th Annual Lei Day Celebration in Hawai’i! Aiding to almost 100 years of celebration, a tradition to be kept on for generations is a great opportunity to come together with people in your community.

On the day of the event, you will get to see and experience the skill and artistry of Hawai’i’s lei makers, while featuring amazing performances and local entertainment. Local food, craft and lei vendors will share space with the families and individuals in attendance.

Be sure to stop by to see the Lei Contest Exhibit, showcasing some of the world’s most exquisite hand crafted lei, in an assortment of materials, colors and styles. Also from 10:00am-3:00pm there will be a show from the Hawaiian Steel Guitar performers on stage.

Bring your puppy, being your keiki, and bring a friend that loves to sing and dance–because you’ll all have a blast! Hope to see you all there, on Thursday, May 1st.
