The Moonlight Masquerade Ball on November 14, was a phenomenal success. I heard about this event pretty late and I was unsure about going. In fact, I was in my room playing video games with my roommates at 5:30 pm and the event started at 6 pm. My dear friend Jordyn, who was hosting the event invited me to come and I owed her a favor so I went without any expectations. When I showed up I was amazed. There was already a line with all these different students with their fun little masks on and when you enter the event you are greeted with live music, drinks, and snacks. The music was great and they played amazing dancing music and I spent a good amount of time embarrassing myself on the dance floor but everyone was having a great time. The only thing that kept me going was the hope that no one knew who I was because of my mask as if I don’t have very distinguishable curly hair and mustache. The 3 hour event felt very professionally thought out and well coordinated. After the live music was done, there was a DJ who played the rest of the event and he played banger after banger and as someone who appreciated good dancing music, I was having a blast. There were congo lines and dance battles and best of all, the room was air conditioned. I asked the host how she thought the event went and she said that she was really happy about it. She said that the turnout was great and everyone seemed to be having a good time dancing and mingling. The snack bar was a huge success and I found myself going back to it time and time again. They also had a photo wall with a creative background that you and your friends can take pictures at. All in all I had a great time and I am glad that I went.
