Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, professionally known as Tory Lanez, is a Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter. In July 2020, Tory allegedly shot Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, an American rapper professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion, in the foot.

The fight was rumored to be regarding a lover’s quarrel that turned violent.

At a house party in LA, Peterson allegedly shot a firearm, hitting Megan in the foot. She initially did not want to get the police involved in the incident. Pete later went live on Instagram to further explain the situation to her fans.

“You think I’m about to tell the police that we … us Black people got a gun in the car?” she added. “You want me to tell the law that we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us up?”

Fans speculated Megan was trying to cover up Peterson’s actions; however, she further stated that she did not want to tell the police due to fear of being killed by officials that night. The trial is scheduled to take place in December 2022.

However, the concert was halted due to a recent accusation of Lanez attacking August Alsina, a singer, in Chicago in early September. Due to this event, Lanez was put on house arrest.

Tory Lanez’s attorney, Shawn Holley, argued that Alsina made allegations without hard proof of the assault. Nevertheless, Lanez violated the conditions and circumstances of his bail agreement with the new allegations.

Once again, his fate falls in the hands of the law, and the situation leaves Lanez and his team no choice but to postpone the well-hopped concert. Tory could not afford any more run-ins with the law with the preceding Megan the Stallion situation.
